On June 6-7, 2008 in Vail, Colorado, World Cup points leader Kilian Fischhuber from Austria (shown here on the fourth and final problem) came away with another victory. Meanwhile, Paul Robinson, 20, finished third in his very first international competition. The Bouldering World Cup in Vail was the first world cup climbing event in the U.S. since 1990. On June 6-7, 2008 in Vail, Colorado, at the Teva Mountain Games, Alex Johnson stunned the visiting Europeans by winning the women’s competition (shown here flashing problem one at the IFSC World Cup finals). Although Johnson, 19, was second at the U.S. bouldering championship in February, she had never competed in a Bouldering World Cup. Click here to see the final results.
